Unscene Magazine is a platform for the underexposed. Geared towards creative males, Unscene is a quarterly publication that delivers highly curated content: unfiltered interviews, music, fashion and places under the mainstream radar.
Unscene is smaller than your standard magazine (6.75 x 9 inches.) In this issue, Unscene covers the topic of process and shares an unfiltered view of each featured artists’ process. I divided the magazine into three distinct sections that clearly highlights the content of each section.
Throughout the issue, LL Circular is used for the primary typeface to compliment the content and allow the imagery to take the stage to draw the reader in. To stay true to the mission of the magazine, all of the artists featured are close friends of mine that I personally interviewed.
The style of the interviews are candid and uncensored. In this spread I asked one of the artists to share favorite photos she captured and the stories behind them. Each story ends by showing a peek of an image that alludes to the next page.
Breaking new music is a feature our readership highly values. In partnership with Spotify, each quarter we generate a curated playlist our reader can access by scanning a QR code or going directly to our website. They also have the option to add the playlist to their Spotify account.
As an extension of the print magazine, I created a website where our readers can place a subscription, view snippets of what is in the current issue including interviews, download the quarterly playlist, and shop some of the featured products in our online store.
